Employment Pact 50plus

According to the saying “Younger people run faster, but older people know the shortcut”, older long-term unemployed people from Elbe-Elster, Wittenberg and Dessau-Roßlau were intensively supported in their search for suitable long-term work for over 10 years.

Project Duration

2005 – 2015

The 50plus employment pact had already been active in the Elbe-Elster district since the end of 2005. In 2008, the pact was expanded to include the district of Wittenberg (Saxony-Anhalt) and the city of Dessau-Roßlau (Saxony-Anhalt). The third programme phase of the federal programme “Perspective 50plus – Employment Pacts for Older People in the Regions” of the Federal Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs was running until 2015. The aim was to place older long-term unemployed people in new, preferably permanent, jobs in the primary labour market. After 10 years of the project, this employment pact has become one of the most successful placement projects of the association within the three pact regions with more than six participating sub-project agencies.
